HOLLY BASS

Hi everyone! I am the subject Lead for Drama and Dance at a school in Liverpool where I have worked since 2015, initially teaching GCSE Drama after school where, at the time, Drama was not on the timetable at the school. After a labour of love, we now have a thriving department with 2 annual shows and GCSE Drama and Dance class. Next step - Sixth Form!
After graduating from LIPA where I completed a Community Drama degree, I began teaching in mainstream education after spending several years helping to run Performing Arts workshops to adults at ‘Autism Together’ and setting up a charity running the same for children in the Wirral.
In my current role, I have a passion for inclusivity and strive to ensure that drama opportunities is accessible to all - inside and outside of the classroom and that my students know how to use their voice to be heard.
I have enjoyed training student teachers for the past 3 years and am always happy to lend an ear to anyone with a question in the drama community.
Outside of school, I have a young family with 3 boys under 9 so I’m kept busy; I also have a passion for musicals and reading.
I am hoping to continue to build a network of like-minded professionals to support each other with whatever needs arise in our area, even if it’s just a rant or an ideas session that you need.
Please get in touch if you’re in Liverpool or the surrounding areas. I look forward to meeting you!
